The Prudden Road Surfacing Tennis League will hold it's Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 26th February, 2008, at 7.30pm, at the Royal British Legion Club, Bidford-on-Avon. Even after the last two year's record number applying to join, this year smashes that record so much so that a new Division Five is being created for the 2008 season. Although the league lost Shipston A from the Premier Division with all those players moving on to different climes, four new teams have applied to join. The new teams will be Alcester C, Chipping Campden C, Inkberrow D and Shipston B who enter a young and inexperienced side at the bottom. They are joined in forming the new Division Five by Bidford C and HDA B of Redditch, who both finished at the bottom of Division 4 last year. This gives a total of 43 teams with 6 divisions in total from the Premier Divisions and Divisions One through to Five. This Mens' Doubles
Summer Tennis League covers the South Warwickshire and district areas of the
midlands including parts of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire and also runs
a one-day end-of-season tournament and an inter-league Charity Cup Final.
The league also enters for a fifth season a Junior League which begins a
month earlier in March and consists of 16 teams from 15 clubs divided into
four pools.
